By designing our units with multiple walk-up windows, our franchisees can open more windows to service a larger volume of guests during peak times and reduce the number of open windows during slower periods.

This strategy is the key to Bruster’s higher unit volumes and unique brand experience!

A Flexible Store Design

Bruster’s franchisees have two design options: free-standing and end-cap. Both fit our walk-up window model and can accommodate patio seating areas. If available, we encourage adding a drive-thru for customer convenience. In colder climates, we offer alternative designs that account for customer comfort. 

Free-Standing

Although we have found free-standing locations for rent, most free-standing locations require the franchisee to purchase the land and build or purchase the land with an existing location to be retrofitted accordingly. The investment for a free-standing location is estimated between $1,174,500 and $2,566,500 for a location that requires the purchase of land and building. Bruster’s requires a minimum $500,000 net worth and$150,000 in liquid capital to qualify for this type of store design.

End-Cap

Bruster’s began offering a leased end-cap design as an option during the recent economic downturn. We have found these locations are a lower investment because the cost of land, with or without an existing building, continues to increase across the country. The end-cap may or may not offer a drive-through, but always offers the walk-up windows. The investment for an end-cap location is estimated between $320,500 and $903,500.  

Bruster’s requires a minimum $500,000 net worth and $150,000 in liquid capital to qualify for this type of store design.
